Tennessee State Law requires 30 hours of in-service each year for educators. The Dickson County School System aims to provide meaningful and relevant professional development opportunities for all staff. Each year, 5 days are utilized for the planning, improving and preparing for the new school year. Below are instructions to register online for district-provided in-service sessions.
Each school is responsible for documenting and confirming that employees meet the requirements each year. If you are a school administrator and have questions regarding your employee obligations, contact the Human Resources department.
Employees may also pursue other professional development opportunities. These opportunities will need to be pre-approved by appropriate administration before attending.
